Come Into Your Own is a 16-page zine born from the emotional fallout of waking up to the truth: I had been raised in a cult.
My carefully constructed worldview was a card tower of delusions, and when it collapsed I was left grasping for identity, a truer sense of reality, and managing the silence that followed cult-mandated family estrangement. This zine became my way of sorting through the chaos, and sharing it helps me to feel less alone in this experience. With raw drawings, handwriting, and digital processing, it captures the paradox of grief and liberation that comes with breaking free from a high-control group.
While living in my friend's attic, I printed 22 copies on my inkjet printer and gave each a holographic cover, debossed with the title using a stamp I 3D printed. The holographic cover is a symbol for how truth is never one thing, but shifts based on our perceptions.
In 2025 I produced a second run of 100 with a letterpress cover printed by The 961 Collective.
